Subsidiary of Novopharm Ltd. (Canada’s major generics maker), producing and distributing private-label over-the-counter medicines and vitamins to Canadian retail chain.

4. The Merger & Acquisition

Leiner Health Products acquired Vita Health Products and kept it as Leiner’s Canadian division. Through Vita Health, Leiner bought substantially all assets of Vancouver-based Stanley Pharmaceuticals.

By consolidating Stanley’s portfolio into Vita Health under Leiner’s Canadian platform, the team leveraged Health Canada licenses to pull forward product launches by roughly three years, won more private-label placements to broaden shelf presence, and maintained best-in-class reliability (OTIF above 98.5% with backorders below 2%). Parallel workstreams harmonized formulas and packaging, rationalized SKUs, and streamlined sourcing, logistics, and back-office functions—capturing about a 16% reduction across cost of goods and administrative expenses while keeping quality spotless (zero critical findings).
Net result: faster market access, stronger customer programs, and a leaner, higher-margin operation.
